Questions about HAWKeye lighting
Why should I switch to the HAWKeye?
When compared to conventional metal halide lighting, HAWKeye LED lighting offers:
- Up to 60% reduction in energy costs and consumption.
- Significant increase in lighting levels.
- Instant On/Off feature means that there's no waiting time for lamps to 'warm up' or 'cool down', meaning that this is perfect for clubs using the Book-A-Club system.
What are the components that make up the HAWKeye light fittings?
The HAWKeye uses the best components available from both local and international suppliers.
The HAWKeye's body is a two-piece construction which allows for tilting from -20 degrees to +20 degrees. This flexibility allows for customization, to ensure optimal lighting and uniformity.
The HAWKeye also includes a concealed internal reflector which features a unique 'stepped' design that allows for precise control of both the forward and lateral light on a tennis court. These customizable features make it that much easier for you to use HAWKeye to facilitate optimal playing conditions on your courts.
How long does the changeover to HAWKeye take?
For those that currently use a metal halide lighting system, the changeover to HAWKeye is easy. Many of our HAWKeye LED fittings can be retrofitted in one day, meaning that night play will not be disrupted.
The HAWKeye mounting orientation utilizes the same mounting bracket on existing light poles and the same bolting arrangement as the existing metal halide fittings. This means that existing fittings can be removed and secured with the HAWKeye LED fittings on existing pole without too much hassle.
There is minimal, if any, modification or alteration to existing poles and brackets, thus further minimizing installation and labour costs.
Will subcontractors need to be hired for the installation of HAWKeye?
In most cases, no. Switching from conventional metal halide lighting to HAWKeye lighting is a fast and easy process that does not require extensive labour.
Even in the case that more work needs to be done, Next Generation have the manpower and resources to perform these additional tasks. For the installation of underground conduits, Next Generation have their own underground boring machine that can be used to ensure minimal disruption to sporting surfaces, roadways and pathways. Next Generation also undertakes complete electrical installation including the incoming supply and switchboard works.
Does the HAWKeye require maintenance?
For HAWKeye LED light fittings, there are no ongoing consumable maintenance costs on lamp replacements, capacitors and ballasts involved.
Where was the HAWKeye developed?
The HAWKeye LED floodlight was developed in Australia by tennis court lighting experts with over 25 years experience in the industry.
